The importance of choosing high precision stamping machine in production

A metal stamping machine is an industrial device that uses strong force (from mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or servo sources) to shape, cut, or punch holes in sheet metal materials. The main purpose is to create metal parts with precise shapes and dimensions to meet mass production requirements.

  • Working principle: The machine converts energy from the motor into the reciprocating motion of a slider connected to an upper die. As the slider moves down, the die presses against the metal plate placed on the lower die, creating a force to deform, create holes, or cut the material.
  • Function:
    • Punching holes: Create holes of varying sizes and shapes on the metal sheet.
    • Shaping: Pressing materials into molds to create complex shapes, such as in the automotive and electronics industries.
    • Cut: Cut the details along the desired contours or corners using specialized die-cutting tools.
  • Types of machines:
    • Mechanical stamping machine
    • Hydraulic press
    • Pneumatic stamping machine
    • Servo motor stamping machine
    • CNC stamping machine (combining punching and computer control)
  • Application: Widely used in manufacturing and fabrication industries for mass production of metal parts for automobiles, machinery, electronics, and many other fields.

Aida metal stamping machines are products of Aida Engineering Corporation, a leading Japanese manufacturer of mechanical and servo stamping machines. These machines are designed for high-precision metal forming and stable performance.

To use AIDA metal stamping machines safely and effectively, you need to follow a specific procedure, including steps from preparation to operation and maintenance. While AIDA machines may differ in features, the basic principles are similar. Semiki is an authorized distributor, installer, operator, and maintenance provider of AIDA stamping and die-forming machines in Vietnam, under the authorization of AIDA Japan.

I. Before operation

  1. Read the user manual carefully. Each AIDA stamping machine comes with its own instruction manual, providing detailed information on functions, specifications, safety procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  2. Safety check:
    • Inspect the area around the machine to ensure there are no obstructions and enough space for safe operation.
    • Ensure that safety devices such as light barriers, emergency stop buttons, and hydraulic overload protection (HOLP) are functioning properly.
    • Check the condition of the lubricant, ensuring there is no rust or hardening.
  3. Prepare materials and molds.:
    • Prepare the metal workpiece and position it correctly under the die.
    • Ensure the die is installed securely and correctly, complying with the machine's specifications.
  4. Check the electrical system.:
    • Check all power-powered devices and make sure their batteries are not completely drained.
    • Back up important programs or data to a USB drive if necessary.

II. Basic Operating Procedures

  1. Start the computer.Turn on the power and start the stamping machine according to the procedure outlined in the instruction manual.
  2. Set parameters:
    • Use the HMI control panel to input the necessary parameters for the stamping process, such as stamping force, speed, and stroke.
    • If it's a servo stamping machine, you can adjust the motion curve to optimize productivity and product quality.
  3. Trial run:
    • Perform a no-load test or stamp the sample at a slow speed to check that everything is working correctly.
    • Check that the workpiece is correctly positioned and the die is properly aligned.
  4. Officially operational:
    • After a safety check and successful trial run, you can switch to the official operating mode (automatic or manual).
    • For stamping machines with automatic feeding systems, ensure the conveyor belt operates smoothly.
    • For manual stamping machines, the operator needs to feed the workpiece and stamp it in cycles.
  5. Monitor and adjustDuring the stamping process, monitor the parameters on the control screen and adjust them as needed to maintain product quality.

III. Maintenance and Safety

  • Scheduled maintenanceAIDA recommends establishing a regular maintenance schedule that includes daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections, based on the guidelines in the owner's manual.
  • Check the HOLP system.AIDA's Hydraulic Overload Protection System (HOLP) protects the machine and die from overload by releasing hydraulic pressure within 0.01 seconds.
  • Employee trainingEnsure all operators have received thorough training on safe and efficient operation, especially with complex servo stamping machines.
  • Check accuracyEnsure that the perpendicularity and clearance of the stamping machine are within acceptable limits to guarantee product quality.
